Craig Goodwill
President
Craig Goodwill has directed and produced film, television, and live productions for over 10 years. Most recently, his films have been broadcast on CBC and he has also returned from Ukraine, directing and producing a “verite” documentary on the Ukrainian reelection for CBC: News Sunday, heralded as one of their finest foreign pieces, and also selected for the World Wide Film Festival Selection.
Craig began his career working as a Director/Producer/Writer’s Assistant on such notable features as Good Will Hunting, Studio 54, Driven, Superstar and Storm of The Century. Craig soon moved into television where he Senior produced two groundbreaking seasons of U8TV: The Lofters - Canada’s first realty television series.
National Geographic was Craig’s next stop, where his role as Segment/Associate Producer for the series: Crisis Zone, embraced his goal to produce media that makes a difference. This thirteen part “verite” series followed the efforts of MSF volunteers (Medicine sans Frontiers), as they worked to improve the lives of others. This show combined three of Craig’s keen interests: compelling television, traveling and social awareness.
Craig just recently finished directing/producing for CBC: Nerve; CBC’s “Teenage Angst” documentary-series, which won The Japan Prize for Best Youth Show in the World. As well, Craig directed Season One of Design Inc., HGTV’s top- rated design show.
Craig has always been committed to keeping up with trends and content directed at youth. Producing/directing with Much Music (Canada’s music station) and producing several high profile music videos for Universal Records, Craig has worked with the NFB (National Film Board of Canada) to set guidelines and update policies for FAP (Filmmakers Assistance Program). He is currently in the beginning stages of creating a Film Program for CAS (Children’s Aid Society), which teaches long- term care kids how to express themselves on film, while introducing them to the technical aspects around visual storytelling.
Craig has had a long history with media. First launching a University/College newspaper called “The Voice”, and then excelled for two years as Managing Editor of George Brown College’s “dialogue”. Craig is a leading member of the creative community, developing messaging and creating awareness campaigns for the “Creative Class” and their values. Craig, and partners have developed an online magazine, which is a cultural portal for the creative class,. www.ccandco.com.
Craig has traveled much of the world to film and capture unique, entertaining and compelling stories. Craig brings all of his experience into each project. His attention to character development, cultural nuances, aesthetic, and visual composition makes Craig one of the most compelling, dynamic and youngest storytellers in the country.
